Take-Home Pay Calculator — Paycheck After Tax

The boxes already have typical pay for this language. Change them to yours. You will see a simple picture of what you keep after an estimated tax bite — not a real payslip.

How this calculation works

If you pick yearly, we use that number as-is. If you pick monthly, we multiply by 12, then split the result back into month, week, and hour (2,080 paid hours).

Simple mode takes one tax % already filled for this country. Korea mode estimates pension, health, and income tax. Neither is a payslip — bonuses, dependents, and benefits will change a real check.

Worked example

Yearly pay 60,000 with a 25% tax bite leaves about 45,000 a year, or about 3,750 a month. You keep 75%. That is a sketch so you can compare jobs, not a tax filing.

What “take-home” means here

Take-home is the money that can hit your account after a simple tax sketch. It is not net worth, not bonus, and not overtime. Use it to compare two job offers side by side.

If your country withholds extra for a 13th month, union dues, or meals, change the tax % in More settings until the monthly number looks close to a recent payslip — then compare a new offer with the same %.

Simple % vs Korea estimate

Simple mode is one knob: useful in any currency. Because the same % is applied to the whole gross, it will not show a jump when you cross a tax bracket.

Korea mode is a planning sketch of employee pension, health, long-term care, employment insurance, earned-income deduction, a basic personal exemption, and progressive income tax plus local tax. Confirm with payroll.

Frequently asked questions

Is this my real paycheck?
No. It is a fast estimate so you can compare offers. Simple mode uses one tax %. Korea mode estimates pension, health, and income tax. Your HR file will differ.
Should I enter monthly or yearly pay?
Use the same type as your contract. In some countries people think in monthly pay; in others, yearly. The page already picks a common choice for this language.
Why is a tax % already filled in?
So you see a result immediately. It is a typical combined tax + social charge, not your exact rate. Open More settings to change it.
Does Korea mode include the four insurances?
It estimates national pension, health (with long-term care), and employment insurance for the employee share, plus income tax and local income tax. It skips dependents, year-end settlement, and bonuses.
Do you save the numbers I type?
No. Everything stays in your browser.
Why is hourly take-home based on 2,080 hours?
That is 8 hours × 5 days × 52 weeks. If you work fewer hours, your real hourly number is higher.
