Fully aquatic frogs live their entire lives underwater in a filtered, gently heated aquarium and are watched rather than handled, since their permeable skin is easily harmed by the oils, salts, and soap residue on human hands. They are generally hardy and cheap to house, but need clean dechlorinated water, sinking foods, and a tight-fitting lid, because even clumsy swimmers will escape a gap.
