How this calculation works
The calculator counts complete years first, then complete months, then the leftover days, using each calendar month's real length (28–31 days).
A month only counts once the same day-of-month is reached, which is how people naturally count birthdays and monthly milestones.
Totals (days, weeks, months) are computed from the raw number of calendar days between the two dates.
Worked example
Born on 15 June 1990, your age on 6 July 2026 is 36 years, 0 months and 21 days — a total of 13,170 days lived.
How different cultures count age
Your "age" is not the same everywhere. The international (Western) system starts at 0 at birth and adds a year on each birthday — that is what this calculator shows.
The traditional East Asian age system counted you as 1 at birth and added a year every Lunar New Year, so a person could be "two years old" days after being born. South Korea officially abolished the traditional "Korean age" for legal and administrative purposes in June 2023, standardising on international age. If someone quotes an age in Korea, Japan or China, check which system they mean.
Why months and days vary
A "month" has 28 to 31 days, so ages are counted by whole calendar months, not fixed 30-day blocks. That is why the days remainder shifts depending on the month you land in. Leap years add a 29th of February, which is handled by counting each month at its true length.
Milestone ages differ by country
Legal thresholds — voting, driving, drinking, retirement — depend on jurisdiction, and most use international age. Because rules change and vary widely, always confirm the exact age of majority where you live rather than assuming.

How many days or hours old am I?
The calculator shows your total days lived; multiply by 24 for hours and by 1,440 for minutes. These totals grow by one day every day, so they are always approximate to the current moment.
What happens with a 29 February birthday?
In common (non-leap) years there is no 29 February, so leaplings usually celebrate on 28 Feb or 1 March. The calculation counts complete years correctly regardless, using each month’s real length.
