Date Difference Calculator (Days Between Dates)
Count the time between any two dates. You get the total number of days, the number in weeks, the working days (Monday–Friday), and a full years-months-days breakdown.
How this calculation works
Total days is the plain calendar distance between the two dates. The order does not matter — the result is always positive.
Working days count Monday to Friday and include both the start and end dates, matching the common NETWORKDAYS convention (public holidays are not deducted).
The years-months-days breakdown counts complete calendar months using their real lengths, the same way the age calculator does.
Worked example
Calendar days vs. business days
Calendar days count every day between the two dates. Business (working) days count only Monday to Friday. This calculator gives both, because contracts and shipping estimates usually mean business days while countdowns mean calendar days.
Counting inclusively vs. exclusively
The classic "off by one" question. From Monday to Friday there are 4 nights but 5 days if you count both ends. This tool reports the duration (end minus start) for total days, and counts business days inclusively of both endpoints, matching the common spreadsheet NETWORKDAYS function.
Holidays are not deducted
Public and religious holidays vary by country, region and year, so the working-day count does not remove them. If your deadline depends on official holidays, subtract those days manually for your locale.
