Lucky colors by year: a palette story, not a price signal

Korean searches for “this year’s lucky color for my animal” return red-blue-yellow lists. The skeleton maps the twelve animals and the five phases (wood, fire, earth, metal, water) onto colors. Publishers disagree in the same year, and this site does not clone a paid almanac table. That is enough for picking a scarf. It is not enough for stocks, exams, or surgery.

Common five-phase color pairs

Folk talk roughly gives wood to blue-green, fire to red-orange, earth to yellow-brown, metal to white-silver, water to black-navy. Each animal has a home phase; copy then “tonifies” or “sedates” with a color. Some say complementary colors balance; some say matching colors amplify. Both are metaphors.

Not Western birth colors

Month birthstones and birth colors grew from European gem commerce and Victorian lists. Year-animal colors sit on the East Asian calendar. A January-born Tiger and a Tiger-month person are not the same word. Do not mash this page with the site’s birth-color tool and call it a double official palette.

Fashion years vs folk years

Pantone colors, runway palettes, and holiday red are industry and ritual. If a folk animal color overlaps a trend, it is easy to cry “confirmed.” Overlap is a fashion cycle, not astronomy.

Practice

Interview clothes follow the dress code. OR and safety colors are standards. Do not change medicine or trades on a color prescription. The color you will actually wear is the only sustainable “lucky” one.
