The carton wants a dry scalp. A wet head is not a hack for “better absorption.” It is a way to dilute alcohol-propylene glycol and send liquid into your eyes and pillow.
Read the Drug Facts panel. Over-the-counter minoxidil foam and solution in the United States are labelled for application to a dry scalp, then leave-on. The American Academy of Dermatology’s androgenetic alopecia pages still start with on-label topical minoxidil as a standard option — used as directed, not as a shower-steam experiment. Water left on the scalp dilutes the vehicle. Foam can collapse into a smear. Liquid can run to the forehead and the eye. If you just washed, towel-dry until the scalp is not dripping. A slightly damp towel is not the same as hair dripping into the part. Do not mix leftover minoxidil into a wet handful of conditioner “to save a step.” That is not a licensed combination product.
