Grafts need a blood supply and a calm scalp. Permanent color is alkali and oxidizer. Those two calendars are not the same as a fashion vlog.
Hair restoration societies and individual surgeons typically restrict chemical processing until recipient crusts are gone and they have cleared you — often on the order of weeks, not the next weekend. Bleach and high-lift color are harsher than a deposit-only gloss. Donor strips (FUT) and punch sites (FUE) have different mechanical stories; neither is a reason to ignore infection signs. The American Academy of Dermatology’s hair-loss pages still put surgery in the “procedures” bucket after medical therapy conversations. Ask the operating clinic in writing: color, bleach, keratin, and heat. If you colored the day before surgery, say so — residual dye is not a secret the team enjoys discovering. Shock loss of native hair around grafts is a known postoperative chapter; dye will not prevent it. SMP (scalp micropigmentation) is ink in skin, not a dye on shafts — different file on this site.

Is a root touch-up safer than bleach?
Less lift is usually gentler on shafts. The recipient skin still needs the surgeon’s clock. Do not guess.
Henna instead?
Plant dyes still stain and can irritate. Ask the clinic. “Natural” is not a wound-care exemption.
Can dye hide shock loss?
Coloring remaining hair does not regrow miniaturised or shed follicles. Photograph, then call the clinic if density drops worry you.
Beard transplant same rule?
Facial skin and shaving add extra irritant risk. Use that surgeon’s face-specific sheet, not a scalp blog.
