A course of isotretinoin is a dermatology drug with its own labels. Hair shedding during or after a course is a known complaint, not proof you now have androgenetic alopecia, and not a licence to copy someone else’s minoxidil millilitres.
U.S. isotretinoin prescribing information lists hair disorders among possible adverse reactions. Telogen effluvium — more hairs entering the resting phase after a physiologic or drug stress — can follow illness, crash diets, and some medications. The American Academy of Dermatology discusses telogen effluvium as a diagnosis of timing and exam, not as a hair-loss vitamin deficiency. If shedding started during a course, call the prescriber before stacking biotin, minoxidil, or a 5-alpha-reductase inhibitor “to compensate.” Pregnancy prevention (iPLEDGE in the United States) is not optional because you are worried about hair. Dry lips and dry scalp from retinoids are not the same as pattern miniaturisation. Photograph the same part in the same light a month apart rather than checking hourly.

Will minoxidil cancel Accutane shedding?
No automatic cancel. Minoxidil has its own label and its own early shed. Ask the prescriber before combining.
Is this male-pattern baldness?
Not automatically. Telogen effluvium and androgenetic alopecia can coexist. A dermatologist separates them.
Can I stop isotretinoin for hair?
That is a prescriber decision against acne risk. Do not stop a teratogenic drug on a forum taper.
