PRP and microneedling are both add-on treatments with modest, supporting evidence — not standalone cures. Microneedling creates controlled micro-injuries to trigger growth signals and improve absorption; its best evidence is in combination with minoxidil. PRP injects your own concentrated platelets to stimulate follicles, with several small positive trials but widely varying protocols. Both need repeat sessions, both are best seen as boosters alongside proven treatments, and neither reliably reverses advanced loss. Microneedling is cheaper and can be done carefully at home at shallow depth; PRP is more expensive and must be done in a clinic. If budget is limited, microneedling plus minoxidil is the more evidence-supported, accessible pairing; PRP is a reasonable add-on if you can afford repeat sessions. Manage expectations either way.
