Poison dart frogs are small, jewel-colored, diurnal amphibians kept in planted, humid bioactive vivaria and fed a constant supply of tiny live insects such as fruit flies and springtails. They are strictly look-don't-touch display animals: their skin is delicate and absorbs oils and chemicals, and while captive-bred frogs lose the toxicity of their wild diet, they should never be handled casually.
