A centrifuge story is not the same as a licensed biologic. If a poster says stem-cell exosomes reverse baldness, read the Fine Print as marketing.

The U.S. FDA has warned about unapproved regenerative products. Exosome products offered in cash-pay hair clinics often sit outside a licensed indication for androgenetic alopecia. Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) is better studied than exosomes and still is not a Drug Facts minoxidil equivalent — this site already has a PRP-last page. The American Academy of Dermatology continues to centre on-label minoxidil and prescription 5-ARIs for pattern loss, with procedures as adjuncts. This page does not invent a positive RCT PMID for a brand vial and is not medical advice.

Infection, granuloma, and wasted savings are the practical risks of an unregulated injectate. Scarring alopecias (CCCA, LPP on this site) need anti-inflammatory plans, not a miracle supernatant. Ask what is in the vial, who manufactured it, and whether it is FDA approved for your diagnosis — “registered facility” is not an approval.

Fever after injection or sudden vision symptoms is emergency care, not a booster vial. This is not medical advice.

FAQ

Are exosomes FDA approved for baldness?

There is no routine OTC or standard FDA-approved exosome hair drug analogous to minoxidil foam. Ask for the actual approval, not a brochure.

Better than PRP?

PRP at least has a larger (still mixed) literature. Exosome marketing often outruns trials. Neither replaces a diagnosis.

Can I skip finasteride if I buy vials?

Skipping a labelled drug for an unapproved injectable is a clinician conversation, not a sales close.

Same as a stem-cell transplant?

No. Haematopoietic stem-cell transplants are hospital oncology. Scalp “stem cell” posters are a different marketplace.
